One mother suffered a terrible allergic reaction after living in an apartment raised in the mold, which was so Domlid’s mushrooms starting to grow in the furniture.
Joanna Hayes, 42, and her two -year -old daughter exploded in painful red redness and bladder they believe are related to the gloomy state of their home.
They moved to the two-bedroom apartment in Stoourport-On-Severn, Worcs., Last June but within a few months the property was covered in black spores.
Shocking pictures show the mold spreading through the walls like shoes that Hayes placed at the bottom of her closet.
The mushrooms were also growing significantly on the sofa in the damp living room.
At one stage, Hayes was taken to hospital after her lips increased by twice their normal size after she went into anaphylactic shock.
Her daughter also had large painful red rash covering her face.
Hayes is now very scared to enter the property and she and her daughter have been forced to sleep in their car.
The single mother, who works like a charity fund, said: “Soon after we get inside, we have noticed shades on the walls and black mold.
“I initially treated him myself, but the mold deteriorated and worse the cold that reached the point of falling paper.
When wet weather was set, moisture and mold became increasingly visible.
When I open the door of my daughter’s bedroom in the morning, a great wave of cold air freezing hits me.
“There is a large mold patch in the living room and even mold under the bed. Is it anywhere.”
Hayes is now looking for community shelter, who owns the apartment, gets rid of the mold or find it a new home.
She added: “I reported it to the community housing and the team made a mold wash, but it didn’t work and just continues to return.
“My daughter and I have begun to suffer endless chest infections and ENT issues, so my two year old needs an inhaler.
“She doesn’t have to need an inhaler in two, she is simply exhausted.”
Hayes said the turning point came when she was cooking dinner and sudsdenly was breathless.
She said: “I thought it could be just stress, but then I started having heart palpitations and became staggering.
“I thought I would lose consciousness and my face started swelling. I managed to call 999 and my mother to come and take care of my daughter.
“I had an epipper from an earlier reaction but it was outdated. When the Paramedicians came, they confirmed that I would go to anaphylactic shock.
“I told the Paramedicians about the mold and they entered my daughter’s room.
“They said the conditions were unacceptable.
“The reaction made me realize that something bad is happening in the apartment and mold spores have a physical impact on my health.
“I am in fear of my life and I can’t risk falling dead on the property and leaving her for her two years old.”
She is currently doing allergies performed by GP, but they have advised her to leave the property second in health risks.
She said: “It should affect the whole building after community shelter sent someone from the mold and wet team who said it is a ‘very serious’ issue and not just an adjustment.
“Water is entering the moisture and the other they have tried to help, it does not sound like there is an easy solution.
“That’s why I need alternative accommodation until they can repeat me.
“My daughter has been a little military all this, but I have to think of her and I don’t know where else to go back.
“I feel like we are abandoned by community shelter.”
Community housing has apologized for the conditions in her apartment and said she will continue to support her to feel “safe and well” in her home.
One spokesman said: “We are sorry that Mrs. Hayes has experienced moist and mold problems in her home.
“We have worked closely with her to correct the problem and deal with other repairs it has been reported.
“We have further planned to handle the affected areas and have kept Mrs. Hayes informed about the advancement of this.
“We will continue to support her and make repairs to get into her to feel and well in her home.”
